Linux can also some to address this game online lag with ifconfig utility command line parameter settings like this:
ifconfig ethx txqueuelen x (select 5000, 10000 or 50000 if desire) that really works for me without needing a killer NIC device card, Since I have linux OS installed on my computer and I tried to play a game online as quake3 clone games on a an experimental tests how ifconfig parameter settings can perform to send UDP and receive UDP so much faster and that worked for me.
