Hey! Would firstly like to thank for a great site. Lags etc is something I've fought for so long but it's not easy getting when the standard tip people will give you is "stop whining or stop playing", so I was pretty amazed there's even an entire site about this. Found it while searching info about the KillerNIC which, after reading about it for about half a day straight (reviews and whatnot), I am going to buy. Hopefully tomorrow when I'm going to a larger town to buy a whole bunch of christmas presents for myself (though unlikely to find one up here so will probably have to order one anyway).

Now, the LagMeter proggie seems awesome, I just wish it would work. I installed it, FRAPS and winpcap. But when I try to run it, I just get the Windows XP error sound and nothing happens at all. Just for fun I tried to run it in Win 2000-mode, and it let me see an error window aswell complaining about the .NET framwork. I was pretty sure I already had 1.1 but downloaded and ran it again from the link on the page where I downloaded LagMeter. I still get this though:

So, I don't know. Am absolutely useless at this kind of stuff and don't really want to go haywild and install everything I see and hope for the best. It says "v2 (etc)" so if there's just another .NET thing I need to download... I would appreciate if anyone knew exactly which one that would be, and maybe you could update the link on the download page.

Thanks in advance!

-edit-

Okay, so my patience is limited to 5 minutes. Was lucky for once though and it all got solved by "Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package (x86)".

Off to try it out!

-edit1-

Bah, usual luck. Couldn't get it to work with SoF2. Quake 3 was nice though, but I have less noticeable problems there.

Glad you got her workin'

We are making more tweaks, and will be releasing another update pretty soon.

This should be fixed in that.

Hello,

I have installed Lagmeter ver 0.3, Build 2497, Rev. 32122.  Lagmeter crashes after running for a few minutes.  I only run it when I'm playing CoD2 multiplayer.   I turn off AVG free while playing CoD2.

On the Advanced tab, I have only one game "Age of Empires by Microsoft" and no others to choose from.  Is there a way to select different games, some download I am missing?

Thanks for developing a tool to reduce lag.

System:

motherboard: eVGA 680i, CPU: E6600 @3.3GHz, 2GB DDR2 800, 8800GTX, and WD Raptor 150GB HDD.  Windows XP home w/ sp2.

I'm editing this post to add that the lagmeter ran today for 2 hours without crashing.  I do not know what changed.  I sent in a log of my results.

In case you missed my blog (click right)...

we (at bigfoot networks) and some of hte origional ELN guys are working on a new LagMeter.

One that is easier, faster, and perhaps a bit more useful....

More info coming soon, and you will hear it here first.
