I Dont See Graphic which lagmeter should give

ok this is the deal i have lags around every 30-60 sec with pings going up to ZOMBIE(999) normally (it started a few months ago) i had like 20-40 ping so i suggested to do some research but couldn't find the problem (already threw all programs of my computer it didn't work)...

by luck i find this programm i have donwloaded the lagmeter and installed the .net and the other 2 programs winpacs and fraps and of couse lagmeter himself.....

if i opened the programm i don't see any Graphic (in which i should see if its my network, client, server) do i have to set some settings in the programm himself or does it depends on the game i play Wolfenstein Enemy Territory 2.6B i play or does it depend on my computer i play with a cable not wireless

my laptop:

Acer aspire 5102AWLMi:
Amd turion 64 mobile technology mk-38(2.2 GHz, 512 kb L2 cache)
up to 256MB ATI Radeon Xpress 1100 Hypermemory

Torrents While Gaming = less Lag! (Now available inside the Killer)

One of the things we've always said at ELN, is that doing 'other' stuff while gaming, will slow down your game (causing Lag).

Wether that be FPS slowdown from running a program, or bandwidth/ping consumption due to doing things on the internet.

Now, with the Killer NIC, you CAN DO MORE than just game, while you game.

Feel free to discuss and ponder what has been announced so far here.

Lag reduction is obviously a very major focus of the design: the features of MaxFPSTM and UltimatePingTM are 2 that are particularly focused on Lag reduction.

The one that may not be so obvious as of yet is FNA TM

FNA will allow anyone, game makers, VOIP makers, even gamers, to write their own custom applications (FNApps) that run on Killer....

What does this mean? It means your PC can spend even MORE time dedicated to the game (and reducing Lag), and not have to deal with those things.

3rd Party Reviews... Possible posts here?

Howdy,

I've been visiting the forums off and on for the last few weeks and, while some of the technical stuff has been over my head, I've personally been a little disappointed in the behavior of some of my fellow forum members/guests. Some of this seems to stem from suspicions, whether valid or not, that the KillerNIC is just a gimic. Putting aside the issues of finance, developments, etc and how they impact the cost, (which really aren't in the domain of public knowlege) I'd like to see more discussion regarding how the card has impacted performance in real world settings or 3rd party tests.

Therefore, I suggest that this forum provide an area, either under this heading or otherwise, that will give voice (and, of course links) to 3rd party reviewers. These reviewers should both have access to the hardware AND have the capacity to make worthwhile explorations of its benefits and limitations.

Currently, I'm under the impression that, at this point in the birthing of a new product, many of the companies and individuals that have the ability to write a worthwhile, independent review have not had an opportunity to work with the product. I'm willing to be patient and wait for these reviews and see no fault in the fact that this process takes time.

I'm not saying that any of the discussions here should stop until the reviews are available. Some of the discussions here have been very interesting and have laid to rest, or at least explored, some of the mechanics of lag and how KillerNIC will be benefitial. However, for those of that are skeptical of the product and, therefore, skeptical of the replies given by those that have some relation to the makers/developers of KillerNIC, I see no other way to answer such skepticism then to look at 3rd party reviews for a more objective take on KillerNIC. Until those are available we'll really just be running around in circles...

Allright folks, you asked and we delivered, the first set of Killer photos are in.

Attached (below) is a picture of the "evolution" of the real Killer... NOTE: THE FINAL BOXED VERSION WILL LOOK SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT (there are a few 'final touches to be done).... but it's close!!!

These boards represent over 2 years of work and are in order:
'NEAR' Final Killer, Debug Killer, and Killer Early Prototype!

Note: the 'NEAR' Final Killer shown here has a PROTOTYPE HEATSINK... the real ones will look similar but have a different texture.
