Great poll idea!
It would be better put:
"Do you wish the Killer NIC cost less?"
Cause' at some level, we (the makers) can't change the price... (it's based on volumes/etc....)
But we can all wish that there were Lag-Fighting products that didn't cost as much.
For me, I would pay the price for a Killer, because I hate Lag that much. Not everyone will feel the same right now...
as for no data on if it works or not: it's coming! (I have an advantage here: i play with it every day!)

| Heck,I wish alot of things were cheaper...gas,big mac's,hell even AIR at the gas station is $.50!!! Just like anything else, hopefully it will get to be in great demand. The more they can make, the cheaper they can afford to sell them.

Your the maker you can put the price down. I dont want to wish for cheaper products. I am not asking for your product to be cheap, im asking for your product to be at a reasonble price. You will find not many people will buy products if there to expensive.

You produce more product, in general you can drive the cost of the product down (as you production costs should decrease with the rise in production volume). This product is clearly, at launch, geared at a smaller market. If you don't like the price, don't buy it or just wait for market prices and manufacturing prices/processes to drive the cost of the product down. For the record, $300 is cheap for a good network card. I remember paying $500+ for IBM LANStreamer 16/4 Token Ring Cards years ago. I'll shell out the $300 for this NIC. Seems like a deal to me. /usually use Server-grade NICs in my home PC - TheSpur

The KNic, like the Deck Keyboards are not products that look to decrease in price for some time. Deck's are still the same price they were when they were released in late 2004/early 2005. The same request was posed to them about their product.
Anyway, not all products will follow the guidelines of capitalism, where supply and demand dictate prices. I'm looking forward to possibly the evolution of the KNic--there's a review out there that indicates the PCIe bus has higher latencies than the PCI bus--but looking at the performance of my server-grade NIC (3Com, Intel, and other brands have nothing on my card, and it's shown it's strengths even in these forums).
It would be great to get one of those cards in my box, I just don't have the slots for it, and looking forward, those slots are getting fewer in number. My tax return easily lets me build a new machine every year, but I build each one to last at least 3 years--older boxes become servers.
I think a new poll with slightly different wording is a good idea. What would make the price more palatable, and what parts of the KNic do you perceive as a good value?
My $.02

| I know this is an old thread, but I now own the Killer NIC and I love it. I do believe that it was worth the money. In gaming I almost always had ping rates of more that 300+ in any server including those closest to me. Now my ping rates are always under 50 and usually around 25 to 30. I have even played many times as low as 15 ping. My Frame rates have gone from mid 50's to high 90's and sometime into the 100's. I play online FPS about 8 to 14 hours a day as i am disabled and have nothing better to do but sit at my computer all day. So Yeah i would definately say it was worth the money. Working online also gets me faster results getting into my websites controls and just gnerally better pings back and forth. If you haven't gotten the Killer NIC and are still thinking about it, I personally recomend it. If you keep just thinking about it and stay reluctant, than you will never learn of the true power of this card.

| What you do go from 56k to highspeed internet ? did you switch out the cat5 wire after installing the killernic ? I don't see how a simple network card can lower ping by 250 unless your old NIC card was messed up or the cable was. I'm not trying to flame you, sorry if you think i am.
