font class="MainHeaderText">From time to time I get questions such as those posed by JEMCRYSTAL on my last Blog Entry. Since I get them often, I thought I'd spend a few moments answering them to all. Its no secret, I love gaming, online games, FPS, MMOs, and all things to do with Networking these things together. LLR, The Killer NIC, LLR2, and all things to do with Bigfoot Networks are the penultimate culmination of those combined passions. On to the questions:
JEMCRYSTAL - 7/24/2008 6:57 AM Yay, an advertisment *sarcasm*. Can anyone tell me what i really want to know?
I surely can, and if I cannot, all hope is lost *sarcasm*.
How much does it cost?
By it, you mean the Killer NIC http://www.killernic.com, then $179 or $249, depending on model number.... both fight lag equally well. If by it you mean the END OF LAG... it cannot be bought (yet) for any price.
Where is it purchased?
Killer can be purchased at many online stores like www.newegg.com and www.amazon.com as well as Retail stores like Frys and Microcenter, and last but not least with any new PC from Alienware or many other PC makers.
Does it have competitors? Who are they? How do the competitors rate in comparison?
Yes and No. Yes, there are other Network Cards out there... but No, none of them have gaming features or features that make online gaming (or activities that gamers love, like BitTorrent/VoIP/etc.).
MOST OF ALL: How does it install in my computer (download, chip, what)? What are the complaints about it?
The Killer NIC installs on any Windows Computer with a PCI slot. It is plug & play and just works. The most common complaints with Killer are 'old drivers' on the CD-ROM. We're working hard to fix that problem, but generally, it is always best to download the latest drivers from our website BEFORE YOU INSTALL KILLER!!!
Hope this was helpful, informative, and fun.
