WORLD OF WARCRAFT LAG FINALLY EXPLAINED!!!

W
orld-of-Warcraft Lag finally makes sense!  Some clever writer has explained the Physics of World-of-Warcraft (geeks like me only!)...  The diameter of the WoW World, the relative gravity, the dimensional implications, and of course, the reason "Time" is 'weird' in the game, especially Lag!  Reality is, you need something like the LagMeter (downloadable here at ELN) to actually tell what is causing your Lag... For WoW, unfortunately, it is the "servers" that are usuallty to blame!  That doesn't mean you can't get a smoother experience, you just can't fix their servers (yet)... Yes, We at Bigfoot are working on that :) GRIN :) (disclaimer, not officially announced with any partners except for Emergent Game Technologies)

So, more about this article, and to get to the funny/interesting bits:  According to the author: "Einstein’s theory of general relativity states that time runs at different speeds under different gravitational strengths, and the Pound-Rebka experiment has proved that clocks at high altitudes run slightly faster than those at low altitudes. On a small body with a very high density these effects will be much more noticeable over comparatively short distances. We believe that these effects of time-dilation and compression can explain the well-known Azeroth temporal phenomenon of ‘lag’"

In other words, its not Lag caused by overloaded, underbalanced servers, network congestion, or a crappy Windows Network Stack...  It's the high density of the extremely dense planet of Azeroth!

hehe, got to love it!

fuck u

I can get rid of lag. All I have to do is set my video settings at their lowest. What I want is to keep my video settings at their highest. I like making in game movies. I want my movies to look their sharpest. Yeah, saying that was redundant, but I felt like saying it anyway. I think I shall translate the previous posters primitive verbatim: Kiki really means, "I searched all over the internet for a solution and found none, what a waist of time I could have been just playing the game."
