p class="MsoNormal">The EE Times recent article “
Games online bring bandwidth down” was an excellent example of Lag going mainstream.
Lag is mainstream already for gamers, and is starting to hit mainstream with national press and the nation as a whole; but they are not getting Lag right!
Lag is a worldwide problem that is about more than just
a persons network.
We at EndLagNow.ORG are not screaming loud enough that Lag is not just about the internet.
Companies like Ubicom are doing a disservice to the worldwide Lag problem by pushing their own solutions through their measurement tools like OpScore, while ignoring the overall problem of Lag. The EE Times article got it totally wrong when they said that “OPScore [is] a benchmark that measures ‘game lag’ under different network conditions”. OPScore does not measure Lag. It measures latency and bandwidth. We at EndLagNow.ORG know that Lag is not just about latency and bandwidth, what we call Network Lag, but also about Client Lag and Server Lag.
Client Lag and Server Lag are two problems that Ubicom can’t help with today, and thus do not measure. LagMeter, on the other hand, measures all 3 causes of Lag. EndLagNow.ORG (sponsored by Bigfoot Networks, Inc.) created LagMeter to measure all 3 causes of Lag, despite the fact that Bigfoot Networks product (the Killer NIC) does not solve all 3 causes of Lag. Why? Because EndLagNow.ORG understand what Lag really is, and what really causes it.
If you want to learn what Lag is, and what really causes it, without the media spin or the marketing muscle, check out the following links, and download LagMeter right away!
