let me answer questions about the new Killer NIC inside our forums. I am very pleased... there is a lot of attention out there about Killer, and I would love to answer some of the hard questions posed. Believe me, my team of engineers DO know what they are doing... and we DO have a great product. The trick, is educating people about HOW GAMES WORK, and how Killer helps them.
One of the questions is sometimes::: But my Network card doesn't cause Lag. This statement may or may not be true (depends)... but Killer CAN reduce your Lag (as we at EndLagNow.ORG have defined it!). And that is a good thing!
Recall the
definition of Lag... and recall that Killer improves FPS and reduces Latency, 2 of the major causes of Lag. How?
It's been explained before... but in general WE LITERALLY BYPASS THE WINDOWS STACK!!! Something NO OTHER CONSUMER NETWORK CARD HAS
DARED TO DO!!!!!! And we are EXTREMELY optimized for Latency. It is not an easy scientific feat to improve FPS and reduce latency by bypassing the network stack: we've done it... and
performane results are proving it!
