WHY SOME FPS GAMERS DON’T LIKE MMOS
SUNDAY, APRIL 23, 2006 - BY TYTUS
he basic issue is one of speed. FPS games offer speed, action, and fastest finger fun. MMOs offer slower, turn-based action, with nary a trigger finger to be found. There are other differences of course… (RPG elements, equipment, social interaction, etc.) but at the core, it’s about speed. There have been attempts by game makers to bridge these gaps, transcend the genres and get followers of one to join the other. Notables include Planetside http://planetside.station.sony.com/ , and the soon to be released Huxley http://www.webzengames.com/Game/Huxley/ . The latter, yet to be proven, the former, well, former.

NEVER HAVE TOO LITTLE OF ANY ONE THING

nderstanding Lag takes a lot of work. It takes dedication to games, and dedication to networking: two things that are rarely in combination. It also takes looking at REALITY! The reality check here is that for SOME people, Lag is being caused by their system being out of Spec, and they could use a serious upgrade in hardware.
